Azrael Alexander, a.k.a ALX, is a musician from Temple, TX. We designed his original logo and the packaging for his first album, 1103 South Second (later renamed Rebirth).
The logo is based off of Azrael’s fat cap graffiti style signature. We cleaned up the signature by tightening up the letter forms and making a custom typeface out of them, creating a unique wordmark.
Logo process.
The cover for 1103 South Second revisits the site that once held Azrael’s childhood home, now just a patch of trees and shrubs.
The effects and treatment of the photograph give the cover a gritty, mistreated look, reflecting the raw nature of the album’s songs, based on Alex’s unfiltered take on his life and childhood.
